Privacy Policy for PostIn Chrome Extension
Last updated: 2024-11-03
PostIn (“the Extension”) enhances the LinkedIn experience by helping you draft posts, surface trending topics, and display personal analytics in a side panel. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
Information the Extension Accesses
The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personally identifiable information, financial data, health information, authentication data, or user communications. All features run locally in your browser.
To provide its functionality, the Extension needs to:
- Access LinkedIn page content – The Extension reads text and metrics already visible to you on LinkedIn pages so it can render the side panel, display your personal stats, suggest trending keywords, and pre-fill the composer.
- Store lightweight preferences – The Extension stores configuration values
(for example, whether you finished onboarding or which proxy URL to use) in
Chrome’s
storagearea. These items never leave your device unless you sync browser settings through your Google account.
How Information Is Used
- Page content is processed in-memory to enhance the UI. It is never sent to external services.
- AI post generation requests are proxied through our Cloudflare Worker. The text you send for generation is forwarded to Groq only for the purpose of generating your draft and is not stored by the Extension.
- Stored preferences are used solely to remember Extension settings between sessions.
No Data Sale or Advertising
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose user data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, analytics, credit scoring, or any purpose beyond delivering the Extension’s core features.
Your Choices
- You can remove stored preferences at any time via
chrome://settings/siteDataor by uninstalling the Extension. - If you do not wish the Extension to access LinkedIn content, simply disable or
uninstall it in
chrome://extensions.
